Overview

Project Summary

HospitalityEntertainment

A high-design Japanese steakhouse and lounge where dramatic ceiling sculpture, lacquered surfaces, and tile finishes had to coexist with refined dining acoustics.

Custom absorption was hidden behind decorative wall panels and architectural details, dropping reverberation without compromising the room's signature visual identity.

Music and ambient audio were zoned across the sushi bar, main dining room, and lounge so each space holds its own energy as the night transitions.

Process

What we did

Restaurant acousticsDining comfortZoned audioLounge tuningMaterial coordination

01

Studied the visual concept

Coordinated early with the design team to understand the chandelier, tile, and lacquer details that drive the room's identity.

02

Hid absorption in the architecture

Concealed broadband treatment behind decorative panels and detailing so the room loses reverberation without losing impact.

03

Zoned the experience

Separated music and ambient levels between sushi bar, dining tables, and lounge so each zone has its own intended energy.

04

Tuned for the dinner arc

Calibrated levels and EQ for the transition from early dining to late-night lounge programming.
