Equinox Vancouver

Equinox Vancouver

Criterion Acoustics provided architectural acoustic services for the Equinox Vancouver fitness facility, located at 1131 West Georgia Street. Designed by Montalba Architects, the project reflects a sophisticated blend of Vancouver’s architectural heritage and natural landscapes, drawing inspiration from the sculptural forms of a canyon.

Our team developed solutions to ensure the space achieved both aesthetic elegance and acoustic excellence. The grand entry and lobby, designed to create a seamless visual connection across multiple floors, were carefully treated to balance bold design elements with optimal sound quality. Quiet, intimate coves were acoustically optimized to serve as tranquil areas for social interaction while maintaining the serenity of the overall space.

Advanced sound isolation measures were employed to prevent noise transfer between activity zones, enhancing the user experience in this multi-functional facility. Acoustic treatments, featuring premium materials such as bleached walnut wood and stone, were strategically integrated to align with the project’s design theme while improving sound quality. Additionally, mechanical noise control systems were engineered to minimize disruptions from HVAC systems, ensuring a calm and uninterrupted environment.

Criterion Acoustics is proud to have contributed to the realization of this exceptional facility, which exemplifies Equinox’s commitment to luxury, functionality, and an immersive fitness experience. This project represents the intersection of innovative design and meticulous acoustic engineering in one of Vancouver’s most prestigious fitness centers.
