Circa is the most significant construction project in Downtown Las Vegas in 40 years. It is the first new ground up casino in downtown and first new casino in the past 10 years in Las Vegas. The cost of construction is close to $1 billion, the tower rises 35 stories with 777 guest rooms.
Circa is a sports oriented property and over 21 years in age. Circa also touts a massive Stadium Swim rooftop pool complex which has swim-up bars, cabanas, lounges, day beds, air-conditioned luxury boxes and eateries below an immense outdoor video screen able to show concerts or multiple sports games at the same time.
It currently has the largest sportsbook in Vegas with a 1,000 person viewing capacity and one of the largest high resolution screens in the world. One of Criterion Acoustics’ greatest acoustic design challenge was providing the
highest level of glazing isolation from the pool deck, which would still meet the project budget. Computer simulations were created and calibrated sound levels were to ownership to assist in the design process.
Room to room isolation was critical to ensure guest comfort. Noise control for mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems was critical to the overall project.
A radio broadcast / podcast facility which required high levels of sound isolation typical of recording studios was constructed adjacent to the sports book.
