21st-century production values were essential for Britney Spears’ residency at this classic Las Vegas venue. Criterion Acoustics devised a plan that would control the reverb time, and manage low-frequency buildup in the theater.
4600 concertgoers are consistently packing The AXIS at Planet Hollywood for Britney Spears’ popular “Piece of Me” show. The audience at one of the most famed theaters in Las Vegas, does not have to think about why they are hearing precision, full-frequency sound – all they have to do is enjoy the show.
Criterion Acoustics (CA) was selected to provide the acoustical design as part of a full venue renovation just prior to Spears’ tenure. CA took on the challenge of working with the existing theater geometry while elevating it to world-class acoustical standards.
The project itself was complex, but the timeline made it even more daunting: CA had only three months from the point that they began drawing up plans, to the renovation’s completion. The result was an acoustical overhaul that helped transform the sound of the AXIS Theater.
